CHERTPRESS

CHERTPRESS / For universities & colleges

For universities & colleges

A real newsroom for your media college

CHERTPRESS gives each university its own bureaus inside a professional agency and newspaper. Students report for real, instructors supervise and assess, and designated editors decide what is published.

How a university fits in

Your university, your bureaus, your boundary

CHERTPRESS network → university → college or department → bureau → desk or team → contributor.

Several bureaus per university

Campus affairs, research, local community, business, culture, sport, multimedia — each with its own editors and beats.

Private until submitted

Drafts, evidence and assessments stay inside your university. Only a bureau editor's explicit submission reaches the agency.

Isolation you can test

Another university cannot search, open, export or download your private work — enforced in services, search, storage and jobs, not by hidden menus.

Roles

Clear authority for every role

Editorial authority and teaching authority are separate. Nobody approves their own work for publication.

Learning

Learning through the real editorial cycle

The teaching layer observes real editorial work and adds assessment. It never forks the newsroom into a demo.

Two exercise modes

  • Private simulation — labelled everywhere, never publishable
  • Supervised real reporting — through the normal editorial gates
  • Promotion from simulation to real needs a fresh editorial review

Role rotation

  • Reporter, editor, verifier, photographer and designer
  • Developing-event drills, competing sources, embargoes
  • Correction exercises on real published work

Assessment

  • Evidence quality, accuracy, news judgement, language
  • Attribution, timeliness, teamwork, response to corrections
  • Visible only to the learner and authorised staff

Portfolios

  • Published contributions with role and credit
  • Release history and corrections included
  • Attribution preserved after a student leaves

Getting started

How a university joins

  1. Agree the bureau model

Which bureaus, beats and courses take part, and who the editors and instructors are.

  2. Set up the roster

The university administrator invites staff and enrols contributors with scoped roles.

  3. Induction

Contributors complete the platform induction and acknowledge the editorial policy.

  4. First assignments

Bureaus start reporting; the agency desk accepts, returns or commissions more.

  5. Leaving cleanly

When a course ends, operational access is revoked while permitted attribution and records remain.

Bring your college into the newsroom.
